This interview with Eleanor Paterson took place at Erie Community College (ECC) in Downtown Buffalo, NY. Eleanor is the director of the Bilingual Program at ECC and has been a part of the Hispanic Women’s League since 1983. Eleanor comes from a Jewish family but fell in love with the Spanish language and culture after spending time with her husband in Spain. Once she returned to Buffalo she taught at the Herman Badillo Bilingual School, pursued her PhD in Bilingual Education, and has since become deeply involved in the Hispanic community. In this interview Eleanor discusses her role as the director of the Bilingual Program at ECC, the Hispanic Women’s League, and shares her thoughts on the current state of the Hispanic community.

Esta entrevista con Eleanor Paterson tomó lugar a Erie Community College (ECC) en el Centro de Búfalo, NY. Eleanor es la directora del Programa Bilingüe a ECC y ha sido una parte de la Liga de las Mujeres Hispanas desde el año 1983. Eleanor viene de una familia judía pero cayó enamorada del lenguaje español y la cultura después de pasar tiempo con su esposo en España. Cuando ella volvió a Búfalo, ella enseñó a Herman Badillo Bilingual School, persiguió su doctorado en la Educación Bilingüe, y hasta este momento había sido muy involucrada dentro de la comunidad hispana.
