Hispanic Women's League : Photo Album
Description
The Hispanic Women's League was formed in 1979 by a group of professional Latinas who wanted to provided financial assistance to younger Latinas to be "more than just housewives". At this time women were becoming more involved in professional careers and wanted to encourage other women to pursue their career dreams instead of assuming traditional gender roles. The League provides numerous scholarships each year for young Latinas to attend a local college and then asks them to return to Buffalo and work towards making it a better place.
