Ernie Perez Complete Interview

This interview with Ernie Perez took place in Buffalo, NY and was conducted by Stephanie Bucalo. Ernie was born in Puerto Rico but moved with his family to Buffalo in 1956. He is the youngest of 20 children. Ernie’s family learned about job opportunities in Buffalo from his three oldest brothers. Ernie shares stories about language acquisition, education, employment, and the Pentecostal religion. He also shares his memories while working at the Puerto Rican Community Center--now the Pucho Olivencia Center.

Esta entrevista con Ernie Perez tomó lugar en Búfalo, NY y fue conducida por Stephanie Bucalo. Ernie nació en Puerto Rico pero se mudó con su familia a Búfalo en el año 1956. Él es el más joven de 20 niños. La familia de Ernie aprendió sobre las oportunidades para trabajo por sus tres hermanos más mayores.
